Public Comment Period Closed for the Durham-Orange Light Rail Transit (D-O LRT) Project Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS)
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS)/Draft Section 4(f) Evaluation in the Federal Register, on August 28, 2015, beginning the 45-day public comment period for the Durham-Orange Light Rail Transit (D-O LRT) Project, which ended at 12:01 a.m. on October 14, 2015.
The DEIS continues to be available for public review on the D-O LRT Project website (ourtransitfuture.com) and at the GoTriangle administrative office (4600 Emperor Boulevard, Suite 100, Durham, North Carolina 27703). Additionally, copies of the DEIS are available in all public libraries in Durham and Orange counties.
The D-O LRT Project team continues to encourage comments on the D-O LRT Project and DEIS. If you wish to provide comments, you may do so by:

August 2015: GoTriangle (formerly Triangle Transit) is held a presentation on August 20 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for consultants and contractors, especially Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs), interested in the D-O LRT Project and the process that will lead to the award of a General Engineering Consultant (GEC) contract in the summer of 2016. August 2015: GoTriangle (formerly Triangle Transit) held a meeting on August 18 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. for residents near the proposed Farrington Rail Operations and Maintenance Facility. June 2015: GoTriangle (formerly Triangle Transit) held three information sessions on June 2, 4, and 6 presented the results of environmental studies for the entire corridor. The refined alignment through downtown Durham along Pettigrew Street and the Preliminary NEPA Preferred Alternative was also be presented. Meeting Materials are available here.
March 2015: Triangle Transit held two open houses in March 2015 to present the results of their environmental studies, from the UNC Hospitals station to the Duke/VA Medical Centers station alternatives.
